The season will introduce new opportunities with special programming
The Prizery announces its lineup for the 12th anniversary season, including inspired storytelling, music, wit, mischievousness, classical favorites, and soulful blues standards. This season will also feature a voice competition for school-aged children and a series of improv workshops for adults. The season kicks off with a fundraising gala sure to delight the senses.
“The 2017-2018 season has an emphasis on local talent,” said Christopher Jones, The Prizery’s Artistic Director. “From The Miracle Worker to The Savannah Sipping Society to Burn the Batteau and The Prizery Voice competition, our stage will be filled with local performers.”
The Prizery will host, for the first time, a voice competition for local children in grades fourth through 12th. The two-day competition will start with up to 30 competitors and whittle down to the top 10, where one will be named The Prizery Voice. In an effort to provide arts education, The Prizery will teach an eight-week improv workshop under the direction of seasoned professional, Gladdy Hampton. Adults looking to become quick thinkers on their feet or to have fun on stage should enroll in the improv workshops.
Kicking off the season’s slate is the annual fundraising event, benefiting The Prizery and its mission to enrich lives through the arts. The evening will feature an art show with a wide variety of styles and price points to delight everyone from the novice collector to the connoisseur.
